Steve Donofrio has a passion for protecting and helping others, is a former non-commissioned officer (NCO) in the US Army with military service that included deployment to Iraq and Kuwait for the first Gulf war as well as other real-world missions. Every solider regardless of rank has one thing in common, they received training from an NCO. After his military service Steve worked in Youth outreach. In 2000 with his wife Heidi and one-year old son Malachi, they moved to Japan where they lived until 2015. Steve has consulted and taught in schools, colleges, and companies throughout Japan and America. He has a master’s degree in security management, is the lead author of the book Mama Manual and was a regular contributing author for Japan's leading professional security journal, Security Research Magazine.
